Ligation and Stripping
Vein ligation and stripping is a surgery used to remove or tie off a damaged vein to prevent back flow in the vein. It is done mainly on large varicose veins and to prevent venous skin ulcers from forming or reoccurring. Vein ligation is typically used when other alternatives are not available to treat varicose vein bleeding, open sores due to poor venous circulation and legs that are achy and swollen legs when you are standing.
